Dry Heave Indoor Dragon Boat Festival
Vancouver Islands only indoor dragon boat festival occurs every March to help kick off the new dragon boating season each year! Teams of 4 race on indoor dragon boat-style ERG machines in a battle of wills and fitness. A fun filled day open to all competitors, both new paddlers and experienced racers alike!
COMOX DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL
This year’s festival will feature 200 metre sprints with both standard boat (20-paddler) and small boat (10-paddler) divisions. Teams can race in one, or both divisions in either mixed of women’s divisions.

Nanaimo Dragon Boat Regatta
VI Paddling has partnered with the City of Nanaimo and local area teams to revive dragon boat racing in 2024 in Nanaimo. The Nanaimo Dragon Boat Regatta will be a one-day event taking place on Saturday July 13 at Nanaimo’s scenic Maffeo Sutton Park. Teams will race off in 200m sprints in standard 20-paddler dragon boats.
We will have both women (all female paddlers) and mixed (at least 10 paddlers in the boat must be women) racing categories. Note: While not mandatory, crews are encouraged to use female sterns for women’s boats, in accordance with Dragon Boat Canada rules.
