Vancouver Islands only indoor dragon boat festival occurs every March to help kick off the new dragon boating season each year! Teams of 4 race on indoor dragon boat-style ERG machines in a battle of wills and fitness. A fun filled day open to all competitors, both new paddlers and experienced racers alike!
COMOX DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL
VI Paddling, in partnership with the Town of Comox, is happy to host our end-of-season dragon boat festival in September. The spacious Marina Park provides ample space for our vendors and food trucks, and is only minutes away from downtown Comox. The festival features 200-meter races with both standard (20-paddler) and small (10-paddler) boats, attracting paddlers from Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.
Westwood Lake Dragon Boat Regatta
Taking place in one of Nanaimo’s best loved parks, VI Paddling, working with the City of Nanaimo, is proud to announce the Westwood Lake Dragon Boat Regatta. This sheltered location is less affected by windy conditions, and provides a beautiful backdrop for two days of racing. Join us in July for one day, or two, as you will have two distances to choose from. We look forward to seeing you there!
