About the team: VI Paddling’s learn-to-race dragon boat program for the Comox Valley began under the Wave Cutters team name in 2023. This program is designed to provide an opportunity for new and seasoned paddlers to come together each year just in time to participate in the Comox Dragon Boat Festival. It’s all the fun, with just enough practice, perfect for anyone who wants to give dragon boating a try, and for those with previous dragon boat experience who aren’t able to commit to a full-time team. As Wave Cutters is now a full-fledged team, the 2024 team name for this program will be the Wake Makers.
