About the team: The Wave Cutters are a recreationally competitive women’s dragon boat team that began as VI Paddling’s first “learn-to” program in Comox in 2023. After a successful introduction to the sport, many team members were eager to continue paddling and growing together. In 2024, the Wave Cutters transitioned into a full-time team based out of the Comox Marina. As we gain experience as paddlers our focus has become to be as competitive as we can while maintaining the spirit of the sport and enjoying the camaraderie of our team. We train with purpose to compete and have as much fun as we can!!
We’re also a fun, social group that enjoys spending time together both on and off the water.

Festivals attended: We travel the island to race in a minimum of 3 regattas each season including Race The River in Campbell River, Nanaimo Dragon Boat Regatta, and our home event the Comox Dragon Boat Festival.
