Kick off your season high-energy day of fun raced, learning, coaching, and connection.
Dust Off the Rust is all about getting back on the water, refining your skills, and reconnecting with the dragon boat community. Join teams from across the Island for a day of camaraderie, friendly competition, and expert coaching led by VI Paddling. Whether you’re shaking off the off-season cobwebs or building toward your first race, this day is designed to help you start strong.

Morning Schedule
Location: Cumberland Campground Boat Launch

8:00 am – Registration
8:30 am – Welcome from VI Paddling President Tom Arnold
8:45 am – Group warm-up
9:00 am – Races begin
12:00 pm – Prizes for winning teams

Afternoon Schedule
Location: Native Sons Hall

1:00 pm – Lunch and snacks (please bring your own bag lunch)
1:30 pm – Video review and Coach Question Time
4:00 pm – Estimated finish
The afternoon session is a great opportunity to review race footage, ask technical questions, and walk away with clear, actionable coaching tips to carry into the season.

Spots are limited and registration is first come, first served.
VIP Members receive priority registration until March 31. After that, remaining spots will open to general registration.
