VI Paddling offers OC1 rental access for solo training, with a fleet that includes fibreglass Hurricanes, Dracos, and Olym Sports OC1s at our Victoria and Comox Lake docks. We have found that these boats are great “cross trainers” for our dragon boat paddlers and are used frequently for dragon boat time trials. An advantage for us on the West Coast is the ability to train year-round, and for paddlers looking to compete on the national and international level, these boats provide an excellent opportunity to improve your on-water performance and technique 365 days a year!

Outrigger Canoes (OC1)
VI Paddling offers fibreglass Hurricane OC1s at our Victoria dock, which some consider to be the fastest OC1 hull for flat water paddling. In addition, we have one Draco OC1 designed to rig on both sides; a versatile training tool for National Team hopefuls. At our Comox dock, we have Olym Sports OC1s. We have found that these boats are great “cross trainers” for our dragon boat paddlers. An advantage for us on the West Coast is the ability to train year-round, and for paddlers looking to compete on the national and international level, these boats provide an excellent opportunity to improve your on-water performance and technique 365 days a year!
Outrigger Canoe (OC2)
VI Paddling is proud to own one of the lightest and fastest OC2’s available. Our full carbon Tempest OC2 makes for a very fast racing craft, and is a wonderful tool for our coaches to use in one-on-one sessions with our members. This boat is located at our Victoria dock.
Surfskis
VI Paddling is proud to possess a growing fleet of surfskis. If you enjoy kayaking but maybe want to go a little faster (and perhaps enjoy some waves) than surfskis are for you! We have Epic brand V8’s; which are a wonderfully stable and safe “entry level” surfski. In addition, we have a Stellar surfski, and for those who want a little more speed (and a little more challenge) we offer a Think brand Evo surfski; which is an intermediate level surfski. These boats are available at our Victoria location. At our Comox dock, you can also find two Nelo surfskis available for booking. Contact us here to book a surfski lesson.
